Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1886, branching from Impressionism. It can be done on many different type of surfaces and in many different ways as well. From simple mandalas to potraits to stone painting, beautiful designs can be created using this technique. There are a lot of different ways you can create all the different sized dots you need. All it takes is a look around your house and you are sure to find something that can work. It can be done on many different types of materials like fabric, stone, canvas, glass, wood, ply etc. Now a days Dot Mandalas have become very popular.
