CRAFT > CLAY WORK

Clay work is an age old craft form in which easily available clay was shaped and subjected to heat in order to make the product tough. It involves giving shape to the object, its decoration by painting, carving and other methods, and the glazing on final product. Clay can easily take forms so artistic pottery, including tableware, tiles, figurines, terracotta artworks and other sculpture are made from it. Products from a pottery are sometimes referred to as "art pottery".
